Yesterday (Friday, November 28), we just had leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner. Bruce managed to eat all the leftover dressing. I was not amused.
I spent some time working on my drawing, “Juneau in Wild Sunflowers”. It was peaceful and meditative after the long marathon in the kitchen on Thanksgiving.
Here’s the first stopping point at lunch.
Here’s my stopping point for the day.
Notice the changes to the eyes. The small changes to both the eyes made them look better. Bruce, in looking at the picture, said, “Oh, you’ve fixed the eyes. She really looks great!” I am trying to make sure Juneau’s markings are right. I want my lovely friend Jeanne from ajeanneinthekitchen.com to look at the picture and recognize Juneau right away.
I’ll be spending more time on the wild sunflowers for a bit, since most of Juneau is hidden by the sunflowers. Juneau tail will curl above the sunflowers.
While I was drawing, Nox came in to see what I was doing. She decided it wasn’t anything interesting and wandered off to hang out with Bruce. Maybe he would give her a treat. Bruce did take her outside and let Nox do Nox things. Afterwards, he gave her a treat. Nox knew she made the right choice of who to hang out with.
In the evening, we went to Lowe’s and bought mouse traps. We have mice since the weather has turned cold. We then went grocery shopping for a lunch I am making for friends.
There was a run on Mozzarella cheese. Two of the grocery stores we checked were out. The third grocery store had just enough. Who knew that mozzarella cheese was such a big seller at Thanksgiving?

Julia, you are so talented, and I’m sure your friend will really treasure this drawing. At Thanksgiving, we had sweet corn casserole which I love even more than stuffing. I need Bruce around to help me with portion control. 🙂 Happy Holidays!

I love sweet corn casserole! It is a favorite from childhood. My grandmother would make it. I haven’t had it in so long, I’d forgotten about it. Thanks for bringing back memories.

That’s a surprise to me that mozzarella was so in demand. I didn’t use any for Thanksgiving.

I am so pleased that you like what I’ve done so far. I am really focusing on getting her marking correct. Your Junie Bug is such a pretty dog! I really enjoyed drawing her face.
