Blackberry Homestead formerly Retirement RV Dream

Hi, I’m Julia and with my husband Bruce, we are practicing limited homesteading on 5 acres by Muscle Shoals, AL near the Tennessee River. We named our home Blackberry Homestead in honor of the wild blackberries growing on the hilltop.

We are planting vegetable gardens, blueberries, raspberries, and fruit trees. The blackberries grow wild on the hilltop. We are building raised beds for the gardens. The clay soil here is hard to dig. I hope to eventually preserve the produce from the gardens, fruit bushes, and fruit trees.
