We left the R & R Vineyard Harvest Host fairly early on April 21 (Sunday). The host texted me at 7:45 am to see if we needed to be let into the venue to use the toilets. Since with the slide out, we were able to get to the bedroom and bathroom, we didn’t need to have the host come by to let us into the venue.
Bruce ran the generator to close the slide and turned it off. We pulled up the landing gear and we were ready to go.
I texted the host to let them we had a great stay and the dinner was delicious.
We were on our way down small roads, then to the interstate system. We drove onto I-22 heading southeast to Birmingham, then onto I-65 for a short distance to I-20. I-20 took us to Scenic Drive RV Park, just outside of Oxford and Anniston, Alabama.
We were happy to get in and get parked. Once Bruce plugged the RV into the 50 amp circuit, our controller was available, allowing us to get set up.
That was interesting to trace your route to the new park. I have been on portions of that trip traveling to Alabama and Georgia. How do you select the RV parks where you stop?

We determine how far Bruce wants to drive, 300 miles is generally the limit he wants to drive in a day. He would rather only go 250 miles. We start looking for campgrounds that we can fit in and have good reviews. If it is just an overnight, we try to stop at a Harvest Host because those are fun. So for us, good reviews mean easy in and out, pull throughs, allows pets, a dog park is a plus, not too expensive and on a body of water or near a state park.

Sounds like a good plan! I was just curious. I do know on my one and only RV camping trip with cuz, it was difficult finding the “in between” places we needed beyond the two primary destinations she had booked.

We use RV Life to find campgrounds and we call to see if there is an opening.
