After my scare earlier in the week, I have been tired. I have been napping a lot.
Thursday, the weather was a perfect day, not too cold and not too hot. Bruce convinced me it would be nice to take a walk around Blackberry Homestead. He was right. I felt happy to be outdoors in the incredible weather. I enjoyed seeing my plants coming up.
We noticed small dead limbs under the pecan trees and oak tree. Surprisingly, Bruce found a good pecan under the pecan trees.
We went to Walmart to pick up my prescriptions and Bruce took me out to lunch.
After we got home, Bruce got the wagon and we picked up the fallen sticks. I was careful not to bend over, as that caused more pain. I gave my legs a workout with squats!
Bruce put the sticks in the burn barrel and watched them burn. I sat in the rocker on the front porch, with Nox at my feet.
I went in and took a short nap after that, not like the very long nap I took on Wednesday.
I was glad we got outside on Thursday, since Friday had a drizzling rain on and off. By evening, it was actual rain. While reading a book, with Nox snuggled up to me, I woke to find the book lying on my chest. I didn’t remember falling asleep, just being sleepy.
Saturday was also lazy. I spent most of the day reading with Nox snuggled up against me.
I’ll see how it goes today.

Well, you did quite a lot for a lazy da! What a beautiful sky!

It is nice you named your homestead. You took on an ambitious project. Sometimes it is good to take a break.

I needed it. Spending all that time in the ER wore me out.

I understand. That is kind of what Mike has been going through with all his medical appointments. We are at the VA a lot.

It is so tough to wait with a loved one while they are in the hospital or in a cancer clinic.

What I find amazing is he continues to work on house projects-keeping the dryer vent clean, etc. cleaning the new area and prepping for the front porch even as he is short of breathe. He keeps telling me I need to do my fair share and I’m like, whatever as we work together.

Bruce did his best to keep working and doing projects around the house. He said painting the walls gave him a break from what was happening to him. It was very important to him to be useful.

I think reading on a rainy day with a warm doggie snuggle up against you is darn near the perfect way to spend some time. (I’d have added a glass of Meritage but you better be careful.) Tell Miss Nox to keep an eye on her mailbox next week. Just sayin’.

I agree! Nox will keep a lookout for something in the mail from her DogUncle!

Good luck, Julia! It seems like your body is needing rest, and I am glad you are honoring the request.

Being in the ER was exhausting. My blood pressure was extremely high most of the time I was in the ER. It dropped down to normal once I realized I didn’t have a heart problem. It was amazing how fast it returned to normal. The stress and lack of sleep exhaled me.

I need to start planting in my trays. I am behind, again. 🙄

We still haven’t gotten rain. I’ll probably be bugging you for advice about what to with a garden when you want to skip planting for a year. 😆

Sometimes a lazy day is just what is needed. Getting some fresh air was a good idea too.
