Regular Living Task – Nox Annual Veterinary Visit

January 4, 2024

Yesterday morning (Wednesday, January 3), we took Nox to the veterinarian for her annual visit.

They did a couple of blood draws, one to check for heartworms and one for the rest of the blood work.

Nox’s blood work mostly looked good, except for her white blood count. This is a bit worrying. The vet said they will do an x-ray of her shoulder when we bring her in for her dental appointment. He wants to see if something else is going on with her shoulder. She might have an infection or an inflammation. The vet also recommended another blood draw when she comes back.

We asked the vet about a leg brace for her front leg and he thought it might help. We are going to try it.

We’ve got an appointment to have Nox’s teeth checked and clean later this month.

    1. She started shivering as soon as we walked into to vet’s office. As soon as I took her out of the exam room, she relaxed. She didn’t have a reaction to her vaccines. I just hope that the white blood count is not a serious problem. We’ll find out more later this month.

  1. She still has the cuteness factor working for her! Our dog pees in the floor when she gets in the exam room. Except for Reggie–he loves going to the vet; go figure! Hopefully it is not serious and they can get it taken care of soon.
