Candy Hill Campground Outside of Winchester, Virginia

October 4, 2023

We stayed at Candy Hill Campground from September 15 to September 22. The weather was glorious fall days and the scenery was the spectacular Shenandoah Valley.

Candy Hill Campground was a very pleasant campground. Some sites came with a patio with nice patio furniture and a gas grill already set up for use.

ā€œBuster’s Park,ā€ the dog park, was large enough to toss balls for dogs and the dogs to stretch their legs chasing the balls. Nox enjoyed watching the young dogs play.

Nox is ready to for a walk and enjoying the dog park.

Nox also enjoyed walking around the campground.

Bruce and I also walked around without Nox.

We even stopped in at the game room. We played pool and some arcade games.

The sites came with picnic tables and if you wanted a campfire, the office would bring a fire pit out to your site. You also had to buy wood from the camp store. The camp store was very well stocked with RV parts and other items you might need. This was the best stocked camp store for non-food items that I’ve been in.

There were no burrs, so Nox enjoyed her walks. She also enjoyed getting this treat from Bruce while sitting outside.

Candy Hill was a very nice place, close to many attractions and a Super Walmart.

I looked for a picture of the RV on our site and was surprised to find I hadn’t taken one.

We would’ve loved to stay longer in the Shenandoah Valley, as there was so much to see and do. We’ll be back to the area!
