Oh, today is Pi day. What kind of pie should I make?
I enjoyed seeing the flowers while walking around Blackberry Homestead yesterday morning.

Yesterday, to make it easier to fill up holes in the yard with rocks, Bruce hooked up the cart to the mower. Nox wanted to ride the mower with him, so he put her at his feet. He drove the mower over to the rock pile. (Bruce overdid something yesterday and his arms and hands were hurting, so he was trying to take it easy.)
I tossed rocks into the cart until I thought we had enough for a good start. With Nox catching a ride, Bruce drove the mower down to the front of the property by the ditch. He put Nox down and started filling the holes with rocks.
I walked down to the parked mower and started helping. Nox walked over to the large pine in the middle of the front yard and lay down.
After we dropped the rocks into the holes, we decided to get some of the Bama Dirt and cover the rocks.
As we were heading towards the back, the USPS drove up the driveway. Bruce was able to meet her and take the package and put it on the porch. I picked up Nox who was making a beeline to the USPS jeep. The package contained my rotating bookcase.
After the mail delivery, we headed into the back. I shoveled dirt into the cart until Bruce thought it was enough. Bruce drove the mower back to the holes filled with rocks. He tripped the cart so it was easier to get the dirt out. We covered up the rocks and filled in some holes with just dirt.
We washed up, Bruce carried the bookcase package inside and got water for both of us. We sat on the front porch enjoying the beautiful weather and drinking our water.
A bit later, UPS dropped off a long box. It was some of my fruit trees. The package also contained two pecan seedlings.

I opened up the box and pulled out the instructions, then the trees. I heeled in the whips (two Dixie Red and one Gold Rush apple trees and twoFlorida King peach trees) in a large pot filled with potting soil. I am keeping them in the garage until they can be planted. I decided to plant the pecan seedlings in the ground. I set them in a bucket of water for an hour or so to rehydrate their roots.
This wait gave me a chance to sit out in the front porch and watch the birds on the feeders. A beautiful bright red cardinal stopped by the feeder. I was disappointed by the photo; the red doesn’t show.

After the pecan seedlings had soaked, I carried the bucket of water with the seedlings next to the existing pecan trees. I had sheet mulched areas I planned to plant the pecans. I dug out a hole in the middle of the sheet mulch and planted one pecan seedling. In the second sheet mulched area, I dug another hole and planted the second pecan seedling. I put the stake branches in the holes to provide support to the pecans if they need it later. I watered the pecan seedlings in

Bruce wanted to have another fire to see if we could burn more of the pine stump. Yesterday, he had used wedges and a sledgehammer to break pieces off the stump. (This was probably the overdid that was causing his arms snd hands to hurt.)

I checked the weather forecast and discovered we were supposed to get rain. So we decided to skip the stump burning and take the tools inside.
Sure enough, it started raining. The rain stopped while we were eating supper. As we finished supper, I saw a rainbow through the kitchen window.
We got up and went outside to see it better.

We did not hang our DeRubeis art since we couldn’t find the hooks. We may have to buy some more.
I have decided on the paint colors for several rooms, a very light blue for the bedroom, a light blue for the living room, a slightly darker shade for the hallway and a darker shade for the dining room. Bruce wants a greenish teal for his office. I am still deciding if I should paint my office or not. I am leaning towards yellow in the kitchen, but Bruce is not enthusiastic about yellow.
I’ve had an idea about what I could do with the window over the sink that looks into the odd room. I am thinking about a corner art tree branch with floating shelves.
It’s going to be so beautiful. 🙂

I quoted a line to Bruce today from Calvin and Hobbs, “The days are just packed.” He mentioned it will be good to have an inside day to do things inside. When the weather is nice, it is hard to do inside things.

Ha! I love Calvin and Hobbes! And yes, I was thinking the same thing…that I will be happy to have some bad weather so I can work inside.
Take some Tylenol and feel better soon! 💊

It is fun watching it all come together and how you and Bruce work together. Your flowers and trees are all pretty, and I imagine you will create quite the show place. I did smile at Nox lying down under a pine tree.

She was the ruler of all she smelled. For an old dog with a bum shoulder, she can move quickly when she wants to.
