Most of the Day Spent at RV

February 3, 2025

I spent most of today cleaning the RV. I am not done yet.

When I got to the RV, I hooked up the water and set up Nox up on her blanket. She loves the theater seating.

Out Like a Light

I called the main office line for the sheriff in Lauderdale County to see about getting a VIN verification for the RV.

The main sheriff’s office had me call 911 and tell them it wasn’t an emergency, that I needed a VIN verification. I was really nervous about calling 911 for a non-emergency. The dispatcher seemed used to it. She got the address and site number.

While waiting for the deputy, I sprayed oven cleaner in the oven and on the oven racks.

I called my neurologist’s office to once again try to figure out why my prescription hadn’t been filled. I left a message with the triage nurse.

A deputy came and knocked, waking Nox up. She started barking, but stopped when I told her, “No bark.” The deputy filled out the paperwork and we now have the VIN verified. Now we can get the RV registered and titled in Alabama!

I began dusting. I was surprised by how much dust had accumulated since we weren’t living there. I vacuumed after dusting.

I decided to tackle getting the bedroom cleaned. I found several items in the cabinets that belonged to Bruce. I put it all in a box to take home.I wiped out all the cabinets and drawers. I cleaned the washer and dryer as part of the bedroom cleaning.

The bedroom is completely clean. Everything we aren’t taking with us (sheets and bedspread) is clean and ready to use.

After cleaning the bedroom, I decided to take Nox for a walk. The weather was just lovely and I didn’t want to spend it all inside. Nox enjoyed walking in the dog park, doing Nox things.

After enjoying the sunshine, I went inside and called a mobile tech. There are some items that need repair. After the factory replaced the AC cover, the front AC is not working. Bruce thinks they forgot to connect something. Our converter works some of the time. We brought a replacement, but never got around to installing it. The toilet seal is leaking, so that needs to be replaced. I have the mobile tech scheduled to come out on Saturday.

I started cleaning the oven. How did I let it get into that much of a mess???

While I was cleaning the oven, my neurologist’s nurse called. She was able to find the Walmart pharmacy and the doctor sent the prescription. The woman who handles refills wasn’t able to find the Walmart pharmacy in their system!!! I had given her the address and phone number! That was the delay. I just don’t know what to think. I am glad I called the nurse. The nerve pain came back and I was worried since I wasn’t reaching anyone at the office. The nerve pain can be debilitating for me.

After I finished cleaning the oven, I found my small spring form pan in the oven drawer. I am glad I cleaned that drawer.

I decided I had done enough for the day and I should go pick up my prescription.

I unhooked the water, put the box of stuff in the truck, got Nox fastened into the truck, and off we went to the Muscle Shoals Walmart.

Since it was a warm day and I wasn’t sure how long I would be, I decided to take Nox into the Walmart. I wanted to make sure she wouldn’t get too hot. They had my prescription almost ready and called me as soon as it was filled.

Nox did not like Walmart. She shook in my lap while we waited. She was happy to get out of there.

I drove home and took my medicine as soon as I could. Nox curled up and went to sleep in her bed.

Since the day was still lovely, I looked around for some easy yard work to do. I moved branches and sticks piled in the yard to the dead hedge.

Yesterday evening, I walked around the yard marking the holes with pink flags.

While I was in the front yard, I took some pictures of the flags marking the holes in the yard. It looks like flag city!

As I moved branches around, I noticed the sunset. The clouds were a gorgeous pink. I saw the moon and Venus among pink contrails. While the pictures of the moon and Venus aren’t that great, I hope you still enjoy them.

Bruce called with an update. His dad’s about the same. They have to get up early tomorrow to drive into Jacksonville, FL to see the neurosurgeon. My FIL is getting the staples removed and will be evaluated. Bruce will be mentioning the fall if his dad doesn’t.

  1. Glad you finally got your prescription! I remember how hard it was to function through that kind of pain. Hope it is mostly gone now.

Sending good thoughts for your FIL’s appointment tomorrow. Paws crossed it is all good news!

    1. Thanks Murphy! I hope we get good news as well.

I was so relieved to get my medicine. I still am experiencing nerve pain, it takes a little while for it to be effective.

I have no idea why the lady who handles the refills didn’t call me. Instead she sent a secure email to me. She also rejected the refill request from Walmart since they had my name spelled wrong. 😑 They have a t on the end instead of an e! I’ve tried to get it corrected, but somehow it always goes back to being wrong. Ugh! Computer systems!
