I was eating a cucumber, tomato and yogurt salad when I happened to see a bluebird. It was on top of the post the bluebird house is on. I have a clear view of the post from the dinning room’s south window.

While I can’t see the entry, the bluebird appeared to check out the house!
The other bluebird was checking out the trough.

They both flew around the yard a bit, the patio, then one settled on the post for at least five minutes. I couldn’t see the other bluebird, but maybe the one on the post was acting as a lookout?
I do hope they are considering the house and will move in!
So cool–hope so, too!

Do you have a lot of bird houses on the property? Any bat houses?

No, I just put up the one bluebird house. I’ve got another bluebird house built, but I want to wait for Bruce before putting it up.
Our neighbor on the north side has purple martins’ birdhouse gourds. We’ve talked about getting a bat house and putting it on the barn, but we haven’t seen any bats around. It may just be to cold since I haven’t noticed any flying insects lately.

I didn’t have luck with my bat house even though there are bats in the area. ☹️

I have read it takes a long time to get bats in a bat house.
