Nox figured out how to turn her cone so she could lick the top of her foot. Between turning with the cone with her paw and pushing against the blanket, she could get her cone turned so the slits were on the bottom.
She would lick the top of her foot through one of the slits.

To stop her, Bruce taped over the slits that we weren’t using to fasten the cone.

Bruce taped over the slits on both the inside and outside with bandage tape.
It has stopped her from getting to the top of her foot.
Ah, if only they could use their smarts for good and not evil! 😆
Feel better, little one!

Nox! What were you thinking? You will never convince me that animals do not think and problem solve–it is not all just instinct!

Nox absolutely problems solves. Bruce swears she is as smart as a two or three year old toddler. She also has a great memory. She can go straight to where she left a toy when we tell her to get it. Nox tries to talk. She makes noises at us that aren’t whines, growls, or barks.

Oh, I believe it! Reggie makes different sounds which tell us what he wants or needs. We can tell when he wants a drink, to go outside, or to eat based on the sound he makes. When he sings (and it is really a song, like he is hitting notes) he is saying “I am alone, and I do not like it. Please come to me.” LOL. But his really loud bark means “UPS guy is here!”

It is great to have a smart dog to let you know about that sneaky UPS guy!
