Hiking in French Creek State Park, PA

October 3, 2023

While we spent most of time in Pennsylvania visiting with family, on Thursday (September 15), we did an afternoon hike by one of the lakes, Hopewell Lake, in the French Creek State Park.

I loaded Nox into the truck and Bruce drove us to the lake. It was a beautiful day use area.

We decided to walk over to the fishing pier. I carried Nox in her backpack at this point of the hike.

Off the fishing pier, we saw a blue heron fishing. I am sharing the series of pictures I took of the blue heron.

I loved the pink waterlilies.

I happened to look down and saw bumblebees on White Turtlehead flowers.

We spotted a small turtle on a log nearby.

We continued our walk to the swimming pool and boat rental. They closed after Labor Day.

Bruce took over carrying Nox.

When we got near the truck, Bruce let Nox out of the backpack for a short walk to the truck.

Once Nox was fastened into her truck harness, Bruce drove us back to the RV.
