River Ridge Retreat Pier in Guntersville, AL

September 11, 2022

I am trying to do more walking, but at the same time, I’m still taking it easy by making sure I walk on flat surfaces.

Bruce is doing his best to help. He asked if I wanted to go to the pier. I thought about it, and told Bruce, I was willing , but he might need to get the truck if I couldn’t make it.

Bruce laughed and said, “I planned to drive you to the pier, so you could walk around there.”

Well, that was a way better idea! We harnessed Nox into the truck and Bruce drove us to the pier.

The pier area is just as beautiful as I remembered. There were a few American persimmon trees with ripe persimmons that we picked and carried home.

Nox enjoyed the walk and doing Nox things. She was happy to look over the water, but not get to close to it.

  1. Gorgeous! And those pecan trees! If I want to make pecan pie I always need to get them from Amazon. As far as nuts go, I know Italy grows walnuts, hazelnuts, and almonds. There’s not a lot of people I know that actually have a nut tree though. Fruit trees are the popular choice.

    1. The doctor did tell me to get out and walk, but let my ankle tell me if I was overdoing it. I thought a two mile walk would be to much. I am planning to give it a try tomorrow and see how it goes. We went for a short hike yesterday and it was okay.
