While I was out in the garden twisting the tomatoes around strings hanging down from the trellis frame, Bruce was playing working with his chainsaw and tractor.
After I finished up with the tomatoes, I went over to see what Bruce was up to.
He had chainsawed most of the way through one side of the trunk of Pine Tree Three.

Using the backhoe, Bruce dug out from underneath the trunk on the other side from the cut. He wanted to safely use the chainsaw without getting it into the dirt.

It turned out the tree trunk was not fully separated.

Bruce heading back to finish the last bit of chainsaw work. He had to dig more out from underneath the trunk to finish separating the trunk from the root ball. Notice all the protective gear Bruce is wearing: coveralls, gloves, boots, and hard hat with a face shield.

After the final cut, Bruce used the tractor to move the trunk out of the way.

Next, Bruce tackled moving the root ball.

He used the backhoe to fill in the hole left behind from moving the root ball.

I went back to the garden. On the way, I took a picture of the some blackberries.

Once I got back to the garden, it was time to deal with Japanese Beatles. They seem to love the sorrel.

With the peas having passed their time, I pulled them up.

The beds are ready to plant. Cucumbers and squash on the trellis. Maybe bush beans on the side of the trellis?
The famous red pineapple is looking great.

In the late afternoon, Bruce wanted to show me the final results of his work on Pine Tree Three.

I took another picture of more blackberries from one of the blackberry thickets.

It was a busy day.
Everything is coming along nicely. Those berries look scrumptious! 🙂

I am quite concerned that you may run out of pine trees and Bruce will have nothing more to play with. I suggest a carefully orchestrated program of planting new pines for each one destroyed by Bruce and his toy.
