Nox Stopping by to Say Hi to Bruce

May 20, 2026

On Sunday (May 17), we got home late from Huntsville, AL, and being old folks, we went to bed.

During the night, Bruce dreamed he was looking for someone. He was in various hospitals and other medical facilities. I believe he was looking for his dad. Bruce wanted to tell his dad we sold the truck.

In the dream, Bruce stopped at a place where we had left Nox for someone else to keep her. Bruce said in the dream that he hadn’t expected to see her again. Nox was young again. She ran out to see him, so excited that she leapt into his arms. She wanted him to pet her. When he put Nox down, she still craved more petting, wiggling happily as he stroked her. She even let him rub her belly. Then she turned and ran back to the people who were now keeping her. Nox had just came out to say hi to Bruce. She was happy in her new surroundings.

I believe Nox stopped by to let Bruce know she was alright.

Bruce says he can’t stop thinking about the dream. It has provided a great deal of comfort to him.

I wrote this post on the 20th because I didn’t want to forget his dream.

  1. I love this. I have had similar dreams with dogs and other fur babies I’ve lost too. Nox is still with you and always will be. She is just waiting for you to join her, even though she knows it will not be for a very long time. She loves you. 🙂

  2. What a lovely and meaningful dream (and story that you’ve told about it). I do believe that our lost loved ones speak to us in our dreams, and whether or not that originates within us or from outside of us, the comfort is the same. Thank you for sharing this; it will stick with me.

    1. You are welcome. It was a comfort to me to hear Bruce’s dream. I have had dreams about talking to my dad, mom, and grandmother. These dreams have been so clear and real, I felt they had stopped by to visit me. I agree, the comfort is the same.
