As we traveled the country (USA) in our RV, we visited the memorial monuments. Each county has a monument to honor those who lived there and lost their lives fighting for our country. It was always sad to see space left for new deaths for new wars.
The biggest and most impressive memorial monument we saw was at Vicksburg, MS. The Vicksburg National Military Park and the Vicksburg National Battlefield held memorial monuments for each state (both Union and Confederate) in the battlefields for the brave men who fought and died.
Besides the individual monuments, there was a large monument with the names of each Union state with the names of the soldiers who fought.
