On April 10 (Friday), Bruce mowed while I worked on finishing the tax forms. After I completed the tax forms, we had supper and then sat on the front porch.
A big toad was sitting in the grass near the front door, just off the porch. If the toad hadn’t hopped we wouldn’t have spotted him. “Hello, Mr. Toad,” said Bruce. He likes to see frogs and toads. Toads especially remind him of “The Wind in the Willows.”

As we sat on the front porch watching the sunset, I thought of my father-in-law. He loved to see my pictures of the sunset.

As we enjoyed a nice cool breeze, waiting to see if any bats were about, we saw flashes of light. The fireflies are back!
Only a few fireflies were lighting up the yard. I am hoping we’ll get the same beautiful display we had last summer.
I bet your FIL is enjoying the sunsets with you from the Other Side!
You’re lucky you got your grass done. We got a storm when I was 1/2 way through…🙄

It is good that you are getting some rain, even if it interferes with mowing.

Reading your title I’d be inclined to put on some Otis Redding, Dock of the Bay.

Ah, you caught the reference. I enjoy sneaking references into my posts.

They are wondrous beings. Stars lighting up the front meadow.
