On April 2 (Thursday), Bruce and I both had doctors’ appointments.
Bruce’s morning appointment was for his yearly physical. The doctor referred him to an orthopedic doctor for his bad shoulder. Bruce knew he had gained weight from comfort eating. He was shocked by how much weight he had gained.
My appointment with the dermatologist was in the afternoon. Bruce and I decided to take a hike between appointments. We parked at the Old Railroad Bridge trailhead. We walked to the end of the Old Railroad Bridge, a double-decker bridge, that goes halfway across the Tennessee River. Afterward, we hiked along the Low Shore Trail.

My dermatologist was pleased with how well the Lipodermatosclerosis looked; it hadn’t spread. I asked him to remove a couple of plantar warts from my right foot. The shots to numb the area were very painful. The nurse warned me the shots would be painful due to all the nerves in the foot. She didn’t use weasel words such as “some discomfort”.
My youngest sister came up to North Alabama to enjoy the scenery. On Friday (April 3), we drove to meet her at the Oakville Indian Mounds Education Center. This will be another post.
With my foot bothering me, I didn’t do much on Saturday, April 4. I did walk around Blackberry Homestead once. While outside, I enjoyed listening to the church bells. We have a historic church nearby, Old Brick Presbyterian Church, with a set of bells. We can’t hear the bells from inside, but we can hear them when we are outside at the right time. I love the sound of the church bells ringing.
I have a consult this coming week with orthopedics. Very happy! Mike has lost so much weight and yet he eats so much but it just leaves his system. Hopefully by the end of this month, the doc will have taken care of a few more things. His energy has returned. We worked outside today!

It is and from what I know, it really hurts.

I hope your consultation goes well. It is good to hear Mike is able to eat now and his energy has returned.
I am sending well wishes that the doc can help.

The VA has been wonderful to Mike and I am hoping I will do well, also. I think it will go well! I am just glad they are listening and reading my scans! Thank you! And they asked me about an operation over the phone. I believe they are on it!

Plantars warts come from walking around barefoot in the topsoil. Just sayin.’

It would be lovely to hear church bells from home. We did when we lived in England.

Anytime the bells are ringing, I stop what I am doing and listen to them until the ringing stops.

A walk in between appointments seemed like a terrific idea. Yeah I always resent those healthcare providers that sugar coat injections. It always seems to make them hurt more. Maybe that’s bruised ego, I dunno.
Listening to church bells always seems to be a balm to the soul.

So many health care providers say, you’ll feel a little pinch or a mild sting. Ha! Right! I was happy I was warned how bad it would hurt.
The church bells are a balm to the soul. I have never heard church bells ringing until we moved here. I was surprised the first time I heard them. I asked Bruce if it was really church bells. He said it was.

It makes you want to punch them, doesn’t it? 😉
My old neighborhood had a church that rang bells out on the hour. I loved that and rather miss it in this super quiet neighborhood.
