July 20, 2024
On Wednesday (July 17), we went for a ride to pick up some produce for a dinner party at Heinie’s Market.
In a roundabout ride, Bruce stopped in at the body shop to get an update on the truck. We were hoping to hear it would be ready later this week.
The owner of the shop said that they received the wrong truck roof and that caused a delay. He also mentioned an employee quitting, but that he was able to hire two employees as replacements.
The upshot is the truck won’t be ready this week and we were told it would be ready next week.
Well, we’ve heard that story before.
After stopping in at Heinie’s and buying produce for my dinner party, we rode home.
We discussed what problems we might have if the truck is not ready next week.
I suggested we let the office know that we would like to extend if someone canceled. We might get lucky.
Bruce went to talk to the office on Thursday (July 18) and asked if there had been any cancellations. The answer was yes, and we were out on a wait list while the office tried to see if they could move incoming RVs around.
We got a call this morning, extending our stay until August 2.
I really, really hope our truck will be ready by then.

I am grateful to the RV Park for being so willing to work with us. I am not so happy about the high cost of staying at Dakota Ridge RV Resort.
If we had known it was going to take so long, we would’ve asked to stay 2 months and it would’ve been a cheaper stay.
Yikes! You deserve a discount from the garage for all the inconvenience.

Sigh. At least we were able to get an extension due to some cancellations.
