Museum of the Shenandoah Valley Hike

October 5, 2023

On September 20 (Wednesday), we took Nox in the truck to the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley for a hike. The hiking trails are free.

We parked just inside the entrance and headed to the Pasture Trail.

We took a detour and walked across the road to see the Overlook. Nox was already tired by then and Bruce was carrying her.

After enjoying the overlook, we crossed back to the Pasture Trail and followed it. It turned into other trails or different sections of the trail had different names.

Bruce put Nox in the backpack and I carried her for a while.

I was getting tired, so Bruce started carrying Nox.

We walked up a set of stairs to a gate that lead to the sidewalk. We walked along the sidewalk back to the entrance and the truck.

We walked along the trails that took us around the edge of the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. It was a beautiful hike and Nox enjoyed seeing all the ducks.

    1. I had never heard of picnic mounds before either. The mounds didn’t look that comfortable to picnic on. We climbed up them and considered trying to picnic. They did have some lovely spots that would be much better for picnics, if picnics are allowed.
