Riverstone Factory Repair Center and Factory Tour

On Thursday (August 24), we finished packing up the RV. Bruce drove our RV to the Riverstone Factory repair center with a detour around the Cedar Creek Factory. The RV GPS a took us to the Cedar Creek Facility and Bruce had turned into their lot. He was able to get out of the lot and back onto the road without any problems. I am sure the workers who saw us were wondering what the heck we were doing.

We arrived at the Riverstone factory, plant 70. We turned right at the plant and drove around the back of the plant to the west side of the plant. They have so many people come in from the front of the plant to the service center. That is the wrong way!

It was 8:00 am when we got to the factory. Bob had told us we could bring it as early as 6:00 am when spoke to him on Monday.

We had a list of items, in order of importance for the service center to look at. Bob had me email the list to one of their employees. Arizona was talking to Bruce. Bob is the service center manager and Arizona is a team lead.

Here is the list I emailed.

In order of importance:

• Roof Problem
• Battery Disconnect Key
• Refrigerator movement
• Tile by fridge
• Seal hanging out on kitchen utilities slide
• Window arms
• Is noise from Schwintek slides okay?

Bob and Arizona had spoke to us at the FROG a rally and knew about all the problems except for the question about the Schwintek slides.

On the utilities side of roof, the staples were coming up underneath the liner. We think this may have caused by the tree branch the fell on the RV just before Christmas. We had dent in the curve from the tree branch.

One of other vendors techs discovered our battery disconnect key was sticky. He thought it might be causing our battery issues.

Our refrigerator started sliding to the right side during moving, after we took a steep exit off I-10 in Texas. The refrigerator is not supposed to move. Bob and Arizona were very concerned about the refrigerator moving during the Q&A lunch we had at the FROG Rally.

The hand laid tile by the left side of the fridge moved back under the cabinet, so there was a spot without tile. This really bothered me, even it Bruce didn’t care about it.

The seal on the kitchen utilities slide was hanging down. This was a new development we discovered at the Rally.

I didn’t like the noise the Schwintek slides had been making, something similar to a goose honking.

Arizona’s team got right on repairing the RV. His team started with the roof since it was the item we had requested being fixed at the Rally.

Bob was kind enough to give us a personalized tour of the factory. They weren’t running the production line, so we could go to every station and see the RVs becoming!

Bruce thought the new paint treatments looked like an energy drink advertisement. I have to agree with him. I love our paint job.

Bob said they would do their best to take care of everything on our list, but if it took to long, something’s might not get repaired since they had other FROG Rally folks coming in.

We thanked him and since Arizona was around when we picked up the truck, we thanked him as well.

We headed to Goshen to our hotel room.
