We have made it safely to Golden, CO and have the RV set up.
We passed the famous “Welcome to Colorful Colorado” sign. People often park near the sign and take pictures.

As we were coming up to Limon, CO, there was snow on the ground.

Just a little ways past Limon, CO, there was a lot of snow.

A trucker pulled next to us then dropped back and Bruce said, “I don’t know what that is about.”
The trucker then pulled up next to us and did a few short honks and pointed back. I said, “ We’ve got a problem. Pull over.”
Bruce hit the hazards and pulled over. We got out fearing we had a major issue. Bruce was being very careful on the driver’s side not to step into the road.
We looked up and down the RV. We didn’t see any problems. Then almost at the same time, we saw the fuel tank door was open on the truck.
What a relief!!!
I thought we might see snow all the way to Golden, CO, but the snow disappeared as we rolled along. Her is a picture of the mountains as I-70 goes through Arvada, CO.

We made it to Dakota Ridge RV Resort and got the rig set up. There was snow in the RV park and the RV park had lots of downed branches from snow.

Thanks to all of you who wished us safe travels. We are here for two weeks and I am looking forward to seeing my friends.
Wow, you three do have a nice set up! Glad you made it there safely. It is hard to believe snow there, though I seem to recall one June when we went jeeping in CO and found snow! I hope you enjoy your stay there and seeing friends.

Yes, it can snow in June in Colorado. It normally doesn’t snow in the Denver Metro area after Mother’s Day, but it snowed to welcome us back! I am just glad we didn’t have to drive in snow. I love the fireplace. Nox is sitting next to me curled up.

John said Limon is where we went to a train museum. I remember being there, but I don’t remember details. John, of course, does. Your snow is really something! It must feel good to be in Golden again.

I didn’t realize Limon had a train museum. Maybe we’ll stop there sometime. So much to see and do!

I don’t know that this is the best site for the museum, but you might give it a quick look.

Julia,
Glad to hear you made it safe and sound! I’m trying to remember – “snow” – that’s white and cold, right? OK – enough smart alecky talk. Hope it warms up for you. I hope your visit with Helen goes well.

Howard – the cold white stuff is already melting! It is warming up, but the ground is a sloppy mess. We also hope our visit with Helen goes well.
