On May 15, I was feeling great. My wounds from my gallbladder removal surgery didn’t hurt unless I moved wrong or had something pressed on them.
Bruce headed out to use several of his toys to work on removing the trunks of Pine Tree Two. Pine Tree Two had three large trunks just above the broken trunk.
While Bruce was out playing, I hung up a gift in memory of Nox from my friend Jenny. It was such a sweet gift. The crystal drop was already hanging up. We got it at the Waterford Glass factory in Ireland.

As I walked to the back pasture to discover what Bruce was up to, I saw the big logs he had moved. Bruce had cut the logs to fit into the front loader bucket. He scooped them up and dropped them off. Once I made it to the work (destruction) zone, I was impressed by how much Bruce had reduced the biggest trunk. Using the kaiser blade, Bruce cleared out the blackberry canes from around the trunk. He wanted to reach the trunk without becoming entangled in the blackberry brambles.

Kaiser Blade aka Sling Blade

After watching Bruce for a bit, I headed over to the garden.
I could see Bruce dropping off the logs.

Since I was feeling so much better, I decided to spend some time removing suckers from the tomato plants and tying the tomato plants to the support strings.
The first bit was fine. However, bending over caused my belly to press against my wounds. They started to ache. I was starting to feel tired after the first garden bed. By the time I finished with the second bed, I was not feeling well. I really wanted to finish with the tomatoes. When I got to the tomato cages, I spent some time stuffing the branches back into the cages. That was way too much. So much for feeling almost back to normal.
That was it. I stumbled into the house and lay down. I should have stopped when my body said, “I am tired; I am not feeling well.” So much for taking it easy.
After resting for a few hours, Bruce and I walked back to see all the work he had done.

That walk wiped me out. I really overdid it with the tomatoes. Really, just what is wrong with me?
Do we need to tie you to your rocking chair so you don’t get up and overdo again? 😂
Maybe after today’s incident you’ll be more mindful of your body’s signals. (And take some extra Vit C; it helps with healing.) ❤️🩹

That might be a good idea!
I am about a week behind on my blogging. So, that bit of crazy (stupidity) happened Friday of last week.
I am feeling a lot better now.

Are you sure you’re not a rebellious teenager? You know all this over-doing will make your recovery take longer.

Yep, but in the moment, I can’t help myself. Sigh!

When you are used to being active and productive, it is hard to stop and rest!! I hope you take it easy now for a few days.

I think the Muscle Shoals marathon is next Tuesday. I don’t see any reason you shouldn’t sign up and do the race. /sarcasm

Like most of us, you didn’t listen to yourself. It’s hard to be careful. Hope you are feeling good again now

We don’t tend to like it when others don’t listen to us – we need to listen to us as well!

I think nothing is wrong with you because you were doing something you enjoy doing. I mean, I hunch over my computer for work, and I’m sure being outside working on a garden is a whole lot better even if you’re over doing it. On that note, don’t over do it!! Hahaha

I do enjoy being out in the garden, especially in nice weather.
Before retirement, I would tell people, “I live in emails and meetings.” I would block time out on my calendar so I could get design/proposal work done.
I spent a lot of time hunched over my computer and I now spend time hunched over my artwork. I also spend time hunched over weeding.

Ahhh, this is the best, and it almost sounds like we’re in a somewhat similar line of work

Why are we always hunched over? Haha
