Bruce’s Dad Had a Set Back

January 11, 2026

On January 10 (Saturday), during the night, my FIL made it out of bed and fell. It didn’t appear to hurt him.

All Saturday, he was dazed and confused. He was also very agitated. He was cold, yet kept throwing off his blankets. His speech was slurred and he appeared to be upset he couldn’t communicate. His lungs have more fluid in them so he had to go back on oxygen.

This morning(January 11), his nurse thought he was in pain and couldn’t communicate it. She crushed up a Tylenol 3, mixed it with water, and feed it to him. He started resting comfortably after that.

My FIL had several small strokes. The doctors weren’t sure how this would affect him. Right now, it appears to have impacted his speech center.

We know this is going to be a long road to recovery.

  1. Love the picture of Nox. Sadly, when people have strokes, it’s not a matter of if they will have more, but when. I learned this many years ago when both of my parents had strokes. I have an endless supply of prayers coming your way. I love how Nox is praying from Granddad too.
