On October 22 (Wednesday), Bruce and I were sitting in the living room reading. Nox slept beside me on the sheepskin rug. She woke up and came over to me.

On the way down to the mailbox, I admired the neighbor’s pumpkin patch.

While I can clearly see the orange pumpkins in the pumpkin patch, they don’t show up very well in the pictures I’ve taken of them.
After we got back to the house with the mail, I went out to plant the flower bulbs and the peony I got on Monday. Before I planted the bulbs, I laid out the stepping stones we bought earlier.

Once the stepping stones were in place, I planted the bulbs and peony.

Some of the bulbs looked moldy. I planted them anyway in hopes they will still grow.
Bruce mowed while I planted bulbs.
Love bulbs. But the voles eat most of them here. They leave only the daffodils.

I haven’t noticed any voles here, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any.

We have our share of voles too, now that Geordie is gone.
Nox practically disappears on that carpet. You must have to be careful not to trip over her!

We have learned to look before we step on the rug. Bruce almost had a bad fall trying to avoid stepping on Nox at the last second.

Geordie was the same color as our carpet. I’ve been in the same situation as Bruce. 😂

I twisted my ankle and hit my back trying to avoid stepping on Nox when we were first RVing. I spent the first summer with my foot propped up with ice packs on rotation.
