Yesterday (Saturday, September 27), Bruce and I decided to do more work in the back pasture.
Bruce hooked the cart to the lawnmower and drove to the back pasture. He loaded a few logs into the cart and drove them close to where we plan to put in a new garden bed. He repeated this process several times.

I moved branches that would fit into the chipper into a pile next to the pile of chips. It was hard work pulling the branches loose from other branches.
I pulled the last of pine number one’s branches to this new pile.

Earlier in the week, Bruce cleared more around pine number two.

On the way back to the house, I stopped long enough to get pictures of some of the logs from the cut-up pine number one.

I did some work on the picture of Juneau and the sunflowers.

The eyes in the picture don’t look right to me. I’ll need to determine why. I think Juneau’s left eye needs to come down just a tad.
Bruce suggested we move the trees he cut down on the south fence. I stopped my drawing and went to help. We moved the trees to the burn pile area.
I checked on the passion fruit. Two of the fruits had fallen to the ground. They weren’t fully ripe, so they were more sour than sweet. They were still good.

I was walking down the hallway and Nox was walking towards me.

She was ready for me to pick her up. I carried her outside so she could do Nox things.
After Nox finished, I gave Nox a treat in a ball to keep her busy.
Bruce and I headed to Rural King to get gloves for both of us and boots for Bruce.
My current garden gloves started falling apart. I wanted a pair that wasn’t thin mesh on the back that fire ants could sting through. More protection from the evil fire ants is good!
Bruce found a pair of boots he liked, but they didn’t have his size.
As we came out of Rural King, the sunset was a beautiful blend of orange and gold.
We are out and then went to Lowe’s. We picked up some fire ant poison and stone pavers.
My back had started complaining and I was happy to get home.
Pulling all the branches around must’ve been too much for it. Bruce put Absorbine Jr on it and that helped enough that I was able to get to sleep.
I woke up this morning with my back feeling fully recovered. My left shoulder is still hurting some.
I decided to take it easy and just be lazy today. I don’t want to push it and find myself in pain again.
I spent today catching up on my blog.
Is your place noisy from all the tree work?

The electric chainsaw is very quiet. The chipper is very noisy. Bruce won’t start it until after 9:00 AM.

Whew, it looks like a lot of work to clear the pasture of all the logs and branches, though I’m guessing that it feels good to be getting it cleaned.

It is a lot of work to clear it. You’re right, it does feel good to get it cleared. The feeling of accomplishment is huge as we get things done.
