The Moon and Jupiter on Tuesday

May 2, 2025

On Tuesday (April 29), I looked out the kitchen window and saw this butterfly on the window screen.

You can see the five gallon buckets with the pepper plants behind the butterfly.

I went outside to try and get a picture of the top of the wings. The butterfly moved off the screen and onto the glass.

Later that morning, Bruce drove me to PT. While I did my physical therapy, Bruce looked at the big box home improvement stores and Harbor Freight for tool boxes. He’s decided another tool box would be useful. He was shocked at how expensive they are. We got his large toolbox on sale as part of an after Christmas clearance sale.

We headed straight home after my PT. I was exhausted and achy from the PT.

After resting for a bit, I looked at my garden.

I walked around the back pasture.

I like that we have space for wild flowers.

After supper, we enjoyed seeing the sunset and watching the moon and Jupiter in the night sky.

  1. I was watching that moon too! I hadn’t paid enough attention to notice Jupiter, though. (When you read about how far away it is, it’s hard to believe we can see it at all.)

What kind of pepper plants are you growing?

    1. It is fascinating to see the moon and Jupiter so close together. I find it amazing that with a telescope you can see some of the moons of Jupiter.

I am growing mostly hot peppers. Pepperoncini, Tabasco, poblano, Cayenne, Thai hot, jalapeño, and a bell pepper.

  2. After planting seeds, it’s always so much fun to see plants emerge from the soil. I recently planted marigold and zinnia seeds in flats, and I’m amazed how it seems like more plants emerge with each passing hour.
