My Computer Desk Arrived Today

While Bruce was out mowing on the new lawn mower, the FedEx truck arrived. Bruce thought it was our bed frame, but it was my computer desk.

Bruce spoke with the FedEx driver to find out if the bed frame was in the truck. The driver explained that a new contractor has taken over this region and they don’t have enough trucks. His truck was from Tennessee.

I have been running at a simmering mad about not getting my bed frame. I really wanted to be able to sleep at the house. The contractor’s problem has become my problem and for a business, the customer shouldn’t be impacted. I have experienced enough to know that this isn’t always the case. I just hope I get my bed frame before Christmas. It is so close (55 miles away), yet so far away.

I was excited to finally get my desk; it too was supposed to have arrived on Monday. I spent the afternoon putting my new desk together and setting up my computer.

The keyboard tray was a separate product that I had purchased when I bought the desk.

  1. Are not dual monitors just wonderful? You have a great view out the windows, and the set up looks great. I hear you about the bed–you might recall the lengthy delay in mine from last February, and it was not all about the weather! I hope it arrives soon and you can settle in.

    1. Well, I was a Senior Software Architect before I retired. I needed that screen space to see and think about how systems should fit together. I also needed to be able to flip to different applications when others had questions about something.
