Back to Walt’s Four Seasons Campground & Country Store After a Day Spent at New Horizons

The New Horizons service center took the RV in at 9:00 AM and finished with the RV at 4:00 PM.

I am truly grateful they had a lovely, comfortable, dog friendly lounge. I am not sure what we would have done to keep Nox cool in the 101 degree F heat.

They Even Provided Water for Nox

Once Nox decided the vet wasn’t hiding around the corner and everyone was nice, Nox trotted around the inside of the building trying to convince me I should go into all the rooms. She did manage to convince people she needed petting.

Bruce and I would take Nox outside every now and again and she was absolutely sure she wanted to go in the side door, into the lunch room.

Back to the reason we came to New Horizons service center.

Every tire on the RV was out of alignment.

The Rear Axel 3 section in red meant it was so close to being in tolerance (.5 to.9) that the machine was reading .5. The mechanic felt that was close enough due to the Toe and Thrust Angle.

One bad shock was found and replaced. The brakes all looked good. They did find some air in the brake lines, so the brake lines got bleed.

The mechanics said very surprisingly, way more often than you would expect, the brakes come installed backwards from the MORryde factory. This could’ve been what happened to our brakes. Not being held on could have caused the brake shoes to come off and disappear.

Though our bank account is $800 lighter, it feels great to know our suspension and brakes are working correctly.

Tomorrow, we’ll be heading out to a Harvest Host stop, Wood Hat Spirts in New Florence, MO.

    1. We were concerned about the brakes, even though they had been checked out. This worked out well for us since New Horizons is just off I-70. It was easy to get to and I felt their service was incredible. They got us in on the day we wanted and saw us as soon as we pulled in. The best thing was Nox being comfortable while we waited. We didn’t have to go anywhere, though Bruce did go pick up some lunch for us.

  1. Julia, It sounds like MORyde needs to hear some sharp words, if not a demand for money spent on a bad job!!  Do you need a written statement from New Horizons about the brakes?  That might help your case with MORyde. Love, Howard

    1. That is an interesting thought. I am not sure New Horizons would want to get involved and loose MORryde as a vendor.

      I didn’t get any pictures of the damaged parts that were replaced in Golden. While Bruce may feel I take pictures of everything, I do try to stay out of the way when people are doing work. This does mean I don’t always get pictures. I should have taken a picture of the worn parts that needed to be replaced. MORryde has a 5 year warranty for parts and one year for parts and labor. We can’t prove one way or the other what happened to the brakes.

        Try to see if New Horizons will give you a bill that includes a statement that brakes were installed incorrectly?

        Maybe try to get MORyde to pay up without involving New Horizons?
