Nox’s foot is much better. The antibiotic has killed the infection. Our vet suggested that we give Nox a teaspoon of plain yogurt with probiotics with the antibiotic pills. The vet said that one of the common side effects to the antibiotic was diarrhea and the yogurt would help.
The poop Nox made after taking the first antibiotic pill was very loose. After that, her poops went back to normal. The yogurt seems to have done the trick. We will keep this in mind next time Nox has to take antibiotics.
Her foot is still hurting and she still wants to lick it, so she has to continue to wear the cone of shame or as another blogger put it, “her regal collar.”
We continue to cover her paw when we take her outside for walks. She wants to walk now and not just be carried everywhere. Nox is fifteen years old and does get tired on her walks…then she wants to be carried. This is so much better than she wants to be carried because her foot hurts.
Since Nox has been wearing the cone, her hair was getting long and in her face. I did a trim and now you can see her cute little face better.

She’s doing so much better! Her pads are still healing, so maybe another week before she is back to her normal self.

Fingers are crossed. But she has the best mommy and daddy to help her through all of this, so I’m thinking she will be healed before that. :)
