On September 26 (Tuesday), Bruce crawled under the RV and took pictures of the bent bolts and the disconnected shock.
On looking at the MORryde website, he didn’t see a way to contact support. He did see an way to contact sales. He reached to the sales department and they put him in touch with the service department right away.
He sent the pictures to the service department, explaining that he was concerned about the safety and what did he need to do.
MORryde responded back quickly. The bent bolts weren’t a problem. They would send us a replacement shock and instructions on how to install it, if he would provide the address.
Bruce sent the address and on Wednesday, he was told the shock was shipped.
After a couple of days, I asked Bruce to check to see if there was a tracking number. There wasn’t one in the emails, so he contacted MORryde and got a tracking number.
The shock arrived on Monday, October 2.

MORryde has been great. They replaced the shock free of charge and it was great to get the reassurance that our suspension is safe.
Yesterday, October 7 (Saturday), Bruce tried unsuccessfully to remove the lower bolt of the hanging shock by turning it with various tools.
Since that didn’t work, he got the Sawzall out and cut the bolt in half. That solved the problem of freeing the lower half of the shock. He decided to take a break afterwards.
At last solved 👍

In his younger days, he did a lot of work on cars. He even replaced an engine and a transmission.

My husband would be looking for a youtube video with tips for doing this kind of repair! It saves a lot of money when you can do it yourself, rather than paying for service.

Bruce couldn’t find anything on YouTube on how to remove and replace the shock. He is going off the instructions received by the MORryde tech. Bruce is confident he can do it, even though it has been a while since he has “wrenched anything.”
