We’ve had smoke from the Canadian wildfires for three or four days now.
This has limited our outdoor time, as I react badly to smoke. I’ve had a migraine and my nerves are acting up. The burning sensation and the pins and needles sensation has been very bad the last few days. Yesterday, I rested because I didn’t feel good enough to do anything. Ugh!
The first morning the smoke came, we didn’t realize it was from the Canadian wildfires. We walked around the campground some before deciding we didn’t need to be out in the smoke.

When we got back home, Bruce logged into his computer. The first thing he saw a post from a friend about the Canadian wildfires. We realized we are right in the middle of it.
I have been staying indoors to try not to be impacted by the smoke. It hasn’t worked as well as I had hoped.
Nox has been a snuggle puppy. I think she can tell when I am feeling bad.

I thought about you all yesterday when I was reading how many in the northeast are impacted. I am sorry it is so bad there.

I just hope they are able to put out the fires soon.

We are finishing up (we hope) 2 days of severe alert air quality from the same wildfires. Such a shame…

It looks like the air quality alert is going to be over this evening. We got a rainstorm today that cleared the air.

I hope there will be rain to put the fires out, but not flash flooding rainstorms. We saw the aftermath of that when we lived in Colorado.

What a shame about the houses.

This evening is the first time I’ve smelled the smoke here in Vermont. Mostly it’s stayed high, not impacting breathing. I’m sure it helps that we’ve had almost daily rain washing the particulates out of the air!

We started getting rain here and it has washed the particulates from the air. They’ve been in a drought here so the rain has been doubly welcome. I am glad you haven’t been impacted by the smoke.

I’ve heard about the smoke coming over from Canada –how awful! Usually when I hear about such conditions, it’s over in California or Australia.

We had smoke a lot in Colorado. One year it seemed as if all of the mountains in Colorado were on fire.

I’m sorry to hear about your reaction to the smoke. It’s terrible that you’re having to stay indoors! Thank you for sharing your experience and giving us an insight into how the Canadian wildfires are impacting the environment and people. I appreciate your honesty and thank you for writing this post!

I had hoped when we left Colorado, I would be able to avoid wild fire smoke. Fortunately, the rain came and cleared the smoke from the air while we were at Hickory Grove RV Campground.
