While we are in Golden, we’ve been reorganizing our basement storage. We put some items in our storage unit and donated others. I also went through the kitchen and removed items I hadn’t used in a while.

Bruce removed the outside television and gave it to a friend. He plans to use that storage space for his electric tools. Since there is a plug for the television, he can even charge the batteries for his tools.
We also went through boxes of items we bought with us because we thought they might be important, but we didn’t have time to deal with them when moving from the house. We brought the shredder from the storage and spent sometime shredding old paper work.
Bruce also went through his electronics and cables/wires.

If feels good to get this done. It also makes it easier to find things in our basement storage. I’ve got a note page where I am keeping track where items in storage are.
It feels like we’ve gotten a lot accomplished while we have stayed at Dakota Ridge RV Resort.
Julia, It sounds like you’re really getting organized. You mentioned shredding paper. As I recall, I had a large box of paper shredded at our local UPS store. I don’t recall the cost but it sure was convenient! Love, Howard

Good for you! I assume you are also reconnecting with old friends (you did mention meeting up with friends from work, I think), and having some fun –

We have been seeing friends and even showing off the rig to some friends who haven’t seen it before. We haven’t gotten in as much hiking as we had hoped due to the weather. I don’t recall it ever being this rainy this time of year while we lived in Golden.

But with luck, the rain will suppress fire season!

Most likely, it will fuel the fire season. It will stop raining and when it does, all the greenery with extra growth will dry out, providing more fuel for fires. We have seen it happen in the past.

Well, that’s sad – not so much so, here in the east. Lots of rain means everything is wetter, including the vegetation. And when I lived in Colorado – 50 + years ago!! fires were much less of a concern. Floods, on the other hand – I was around for the Big Thompson Canyon disaster, and that really impressed me!

The Big Thompson Canyon disaster is still talked about and used as an example of what not to do.

I have found that if something is in storage or inaccessible for awhile you don’t even notice it is gone or miss it. That makes it easier to get rid of it.

Yes, it does. We got rid of things we hadn’t used at all and things we hadn’t used in a while.
