Meeting the Clover Girls

One of my former coworkers arranged a lunch get together with several of my former coworkers.

It was great to see so many of my friends. I do miss seeing and talking to them. I even miss working with them when I see them.

After lunch, we went to a friend’s house (Scott) to see some of the remodeling work that he has done and to meet the Clover Girls.

Scott is super handy and he has been remodeling his basement. While he isn’t finished, it looks great. I also got to see the tiles in his kitchen. His kitchen is amazing! I always enjoy seeing what his has done to his house. Bruce and I helped with some of the demo work. Having knocked down walls in their house, I am always interested in seeing all the improvements Scott has made to their home.

Scott took us outside to see the Clover Girls aka his flock of chickens.

The chickens are not yet laying eggs. Scott has raised the chickens to be handled by people.

I got to feed the chickens clover. They love to have it picked and hand fed to them. Scott also hand fed mealworms to them.

Scott 3D printed the lids on top of the feeder and waterer. The chickens can’t perch on top which means the feeder and waterer remain cleaner.

The chickens have been visited by a hawk and a fox. The CDs on top on the chicken coop and the owls placed around it are to help scare off the hawk. The blocks at the base of the coop are to keep foxes from getting into the coop.

The Clover Girls are cute and I enjoyed meeting them. It brought back memories of the chickens my mother kept when I was a girl.
