Our college friend in Woodstock, Georgia built a teardrop trailer for him and his wife to go camping in. They used it mainly to go to car races.
One of my blog friends asked me what a teardrop camper was, so I thought I’d write a short post about them.
A teardrop camping trailer is a small camper meant to be pulled by a car or SUV. They normally have a curved roof making the camper look like a sideways teardrop.
Here is a picture of a small teardrop trailer from the nucamprv.com site.

Very often, the back of a teardrop camp will open up into an outdoor kitchen. It will have a small fridge, cooking burners, a sink and a prep area.

It you want to camp in a step up from a tent, these little campers are easy to manage and provide and actual bed to sleep on.
These campers are not inexpensive running between $20,000 to $35,000. You might be able to find less expensive ones depending on the brand.
Teardrops are cute for short camping trips, and a good option if you don’t want to buy a truck. I have also observed that price is not related to size!! They are not cheap!! It is good that there are so many options and price ranges for campers and RV’s.

I was really impressed that my friend built his own teardrop camper. He did a great job and it looks professionally made. We thought teardrops would be a lot cheaper, but found them to be as expensive as much larger campers. It is really what you want and how you want to camp.

I’m sitting in one now; the friend I’m camping with has one, and because I have so much STUFF, the T@B feels more spacious than my Roadtrek! Photos will show up on my blog, eventually…
