Firefly Restaurant in Effingham, IL

August 14, 2022

Last week, after my doctor’s appointment, Bruce and I went to lunch at the Firefly Restaurant in Effingham, IL. It is a farm to table restaurant with seasonal menus.

I ordered a brick oven pizza with caramelized onions, mozzarella, and several types on mushrooms. The toppings were delicious. The pizza crust was a little tough. Bruce was thrilled with everything he ate. He ordered the grilled steel-head trout.

The restaurant was rustic chic, with several beds of Black-eyed Susans blooming outside. I loved seeing fig trees with figs on them. The bed with the figs had several different herbs.

I would go back to the restaurant and try something different.

  1. Wow! That is a grand display of Black-eyed Susans. I bought black-eyed susan last week but I think it needs to be divided and potted up separately for the fall. Not quite sure yet where I should plant it.
