Sad Tomatoes

On August 13, I happened to catch the sunrise through the dew on the window.

I stepped out the back door to get a clearer picture. you can see a light fog in the background.

After the dew dried, I went to harvest the garden.

The okra is beautiful. I love the red okra pods against the red tint of the leaves.

The heat is getting to the tomatoes, but the leaf legged bugs are worse. Hand picking them off is the recommended method of getting rid of them. Ha! They fly way so fast in their escape, catching them is almost impossible.

The tomato hornworms are numerous. Bruce and I go hunting them at night with the black light flashlight.

Have you ever gone down one of the tunnel water slides or seen someone go down one? You cross your arms, lean back, slide very fast down, and exploded out the other end. In the afternoon, that was how my digestive system behaved. While I was afraid to get to far from the bathroom, I was okay long enough to get a picture of the sunset.

  8. Very pretty photos! How long have you not been feeling well? I think your surgery was a month ago. Mine was last Wednesday for hip replacement. I have some tiredness, stiffness, and back hurts but mostly just thankful they took care of it! The rest can come with time, feeling 100 percent.

    1. It seemed to take about eight weeks for my father-in-law to recover from his hip replacement. He was in his 90s so I can understand why it took a while for the basic recovery. He was so happy to no longer be in pain. He was a champ at doing his PT.

      I had my gallbladder removed on May 6. This round of problems I started on August 13. I was over the worst of it by the afternoon of August 16 because I took Imodium. The nurse mentioned sometimes a few months after gallbladder surgery the digestive system can have problems. What? I was told 6 weeks!

      Any way for the test, I had to stop taking Imodium and my system said I am still not happy with you. After the sample. I took Imodium and started feeling better. I no longer need the Imodium but I still find myself tired faster than I expect right now.

      1. I understand! Eight weeks sounds excellent for someone in his 90s! It was hard for me to ask for help which I need in getting on clothes, using the buzzer to call nurses at the hospital. I am not very good at asking for help but learning.

        Some will take longer with basic recovery and some cite up to 6 months. Depends on many factors. I do know that our diets have really improved as we learn the importance of staying healthy!

        Right now, we both get tired! Wishing you the best!
