Working on Removing the Pink Flags

September 16, 2025

On Thursday (September 16), I filled in two more of the pink-flagged holes in the yard. While I was moving dirt, Bruce set the burn pile on fire. He also lit a fire in the burn barrel over an old pine stump after the burn pile burned out.

I have to cut the grass down in the flagged holes. It has grown thick and tall, making it hard to fill the holes if the grass isn’t trimmed.

Once I cut the grass down to the ground in the holes, I shovel dirt into the hole and tamp it down by stomping on the dirt.

In these pictures, you can see the tuffs of grass with pink flags sticking up in the yard. Bruce is watching the burn pile fire.

Bruce finished filling the new garden bed with dirt.

We had a beautiful sunset.

    1. Ugh! I don’t want to think about it. There are six more big holes to fill in the front and one in the back. There are a lot of smaller holes out front that aren’t flagged. The big holes are flagged so Bruce doesn’t hit them with the mower.

      1. I have a walk-behind, and the yard is so lumpy that sometimes the blade doesn’t touch the grass. Oh well, a nice-looking yard is boring.

Hope you guys get everything filled so you’re safe!
