On August 30 (Saturday), Bruce drove my father-in-law to church. Once we made sure he was safely inside, Bruce drove a little ways down Newcastle Street and parked. I had wanted to see some of the historic downtown of Brunswick.
We walked along the wide sidewalks on Newcastle Street. Several small parks are beautiful little gardens interspersed among the historic buildings.

The Richland Rum Distillery had a sign out for free tours and a barrel with sugar cane growing in it. While that sounded fun, we needed to get groceries, so we decided to give it a miss this time. Maybe next time we are visiting the area, we’ll take the tour.
After walking up and down Newcastle Street, we went grocery shopping. We had our list and used it to speed through the store. We finished at the grocery store and timed it perfectly to pick up my father-in-law as the church service ended.
We returned to my father-in-law’s house, and I baked a chicken for dinner.
I love the beautiful architecture!

It is beautiful. I would like to spend the day walking around more of the downtown area.
