On June 23 (Wednesday), in the morning, Dan and Betty came to our room and met Nox. She was interested in meeting them. After the met and greet, we put Nox in her crate with water and food.
Dan drove us to the Townsend Pancake House for breakfast. After breakfast, Dan drove us to Ober Mountain for a day of fun rides.

Bruce and I wanted to ride the zip line. Two of the lines were closed. While Bruce and I stood in line to get our spot, Betty and Dan tried out the ice bumper cars.
Next, Bruce, I and Dan went down a tube ride. To get to the top to ride the tube down, there was a people mover up to the top.

Bruce, I and Betty decided to ride the Tennessee Flyer. It is a car on rails that goes down the mountain under your control, speed wise.

It was a blast! We stopped on our way out and looked at the pictures. Mine came out well, so Bruce bought it for me.
We rode the tram to Gatlinburg and then back again.

On the way back in the tram, the heat got to me and I could feel a migraine starting. Once we made it back down, I told Bruce to go for the zip line. I took my migraine medicine. Dan was kind enough to buy a bottle of water for me.
I caught the migraine early, so by the time Bruce was back from riding the zip line, I was already feeling better.
We decided to head back to Townsend. Bruce and I wanted to let Nox out of her crate.
When we arrived back, Nox woke up and came to the door of the crate. We took her for a walk; Nox was a bit stiff.
Bruce put Nox back into the crate. Dan called Jim Bob’s BBQ to make sure they were open. They were, so he drove us to the restaurant. Bruce ordered ribs and I ordered brisket. Bruce’s ribs were excellent. My brisket was good. We had leftovers which we took back to the resort.
Betty and Dan sat out on the patio with us talking while Bruce and I took turns holding Nox. After Betty and Dan headed back to the campground, we took Nox for a long walk around the resort. She was carried by me and then by Bruce once she got tired of walking.
We discovered the resort had an outdoor movie screen. We saw some fireflies and more places to gather.
We called it a night.
What a wonderful time! I enjoyed your photos, too.

Another really good day. I like how even though some main rides were closed for the day, we all made the best of it. Nox is such a cutie. Your pictures are fabulous! The Tennessee Flyer was really fast! I hope we get to spend more time together in the future. Thanks for writing these two great posts!

It was a really fun day. You were such great hosts! Thank you, we also think Nox is a real cutie and we’ve had her a long time. That Tennessee Flyer was really fast! I would love to spend more time together in the future. Maybe you’ll be able to stop by the Shoals area sometime or we can travel to see your volunteering spot. We don’t have anything as exciting as Ober Mountain in our neck of the woods. You are welcome! Thank you for driving us around!

You’re also invited to visit us in St. Charles. The tricky part is we have to be home. 🙂 And Look Rock said we are welcome back. So, it’s possible we would return there. I would like to visit the Shoals area, too. Thanks again for writing these posts, and have a great day!

I had not heard of Ober Mountain, and I looked it up, and now I know why! We drove through Gatlinburg but the traffic was horrible and we did not stop. It was not our idea of a relaxing time, though I know people who loved it and would go every year! Still, we were glad to have seen all the different aspects of the Smokies, and eager for another visit. I did really enjoy how you and Bruce and Betty seemed to be having so much fun playing at the amusement park.

It was a lot of fun. There weren’t many people there, even so the lines felt long. I guess I am just impatient. Waiting in lines did give us a chance to chat, which was fun.

This looks like an adult playground. I love it!!
Glad you all had so much fun and that nasty migraine didn’t ruin the day. 😊

It is a fun playground for adults. It is a ski resort that they’ve added rides to to make it fun year round.
