Garden Pictures

June 29, 2025

On June 19 (Thursday), I had PT and my therapist did dry needling to try and get me past my ongoing flare up. He put the at least one needle in the spot that really bothers me. Once he turned on the electricity, the pain was very unpleasant. It felt like someone was poking a needle in and out of my back. I was relieved to have it stopped.

I then did my PT exercises to get the blood flowing. I was sore on Thursday, but by Friday, I felt so much better.

I didn’t do a lot on Thursday after PT. I mostly walked around Blackberry Homestead taking pictures.

I was upset to discover Japanese beetles on the grape vines. I also spotted them on the pole beans.

“Oh no, there goes a grape vine

Go go beetles, yeah”

I went inside and made a cup of soapy water. I put the cup under the beetles and tapped the plant leaf. This caused the beetles to fall into the cup of soapy water. If they miss the cup, the beetles drop and then fly off.

  1. Oh no! First Tokyo and now the grape vine!

My dad makes a home made concoction that he sprays on his grapevine to keep pests away. It takes all day to cook down, but it seems to work pretty well.
