Here’s the menu from our lunch with friends on Wednesday, June 18.
Appetizers
Charred shishito peppers with salt
Dinner
Roasted beets and carrots from the garden
Yellow wax beans from the garden
Roasted garlic
Homemade yeast dinner rolls
Grilled chicken from the neighbors marinated with lemon juice, olive oil, with rosemary and lemon verbena from the garden
Dessert
Fresh picked blackberries with sweet Alabama peaches made into a cobbler with a vanilla biscuit topping

Sounds so fresh and really delicious!

😆 Maybe if you count the neighbor’s chickens as part of the self-sufficiency. He just opened his farm store, so we’ll be able to get fresh eggs!

That is an awesome sounding meal with all the fresh produce and local chicken! Yum!

It feels wonderful to be eating from the garden! It is also great to know how the chickens we bought were pasture raised. We see the chicken tractors as he pulls them around the yard.
