Yesterday morning, I noticed the radishes had sprouted. The loose leaf lettuce had also sprouted.
We shopped in the morning. Ollie’s Bargain Outlet had advertised quart canning jars for a great price. We saw a couple with two shopping carts loaded with boxes of canning jars leaving the store as we approached the entrance. We joked they had bought the last jars.
Well, it wasn’t much of a joke. It turned out only two full boxes and one half box of jars were left. We put the boxes in our cart and bought a few other items as well. (Water sprayers, a thistle bird feeder and various snack foods)
We stopped at Lowe’s and bought hangers to hang up our art work.
We headed home. Bruce stopped the truck on the bottom of the driveway next to the mailbox. I hopped out of the truck and checked the mailbox. There was only one piece of mail. Bruce received his “real” driver’s license. He no longer needs to use the paper one.
Nox had a bad night with all the thunder we had. She kept waking us up needing comfort. We found it hard to get to back to sleep with all the very loud thunder. Bruce decided to check his phone for weather information. While on his phone, he saw a friend had passed away. His friend had been battling cancer. Bruce was very upset.
We were tired from being awake a good bit of the night and tried to take a nap in the afternoon. Bruce had gotten to sleep for about 30 minutes when the tornado warning sirens went off.
I knew from the last time the sirens went off we couldn’t hear the announcement from the front door. I decided to check if I could hear the announcement from the back door. It turned out I could hear the announcement from the back door. It amounted to take shelter now.
After the front yard flooding and a second tornado warning, the day calmed down. It just kept raining. We got 4.5” of rain.
The flood waters in front were back when we went to walk Nox at 9:00 PM. They weren’t as high this time.

Oh my gosh. Glad to hear you are safe!
(We’re very sorry about the passing of Bruce’s friend.)

We didn’t have any really any concerns about the water.

I am glad things are getting back to normal. It is nice here today, if a bit chilly and a little wind. Please extend my sympathy in the loss of Bruce’s friend. That is never easy. How exciting to know some plants are sprouting already, though!

It is getting back to normal here as well. It is a bit chilly and windy. Bruce put up the wind chimes and they are chiming today.
Thank you, I will pass along your sympathy.

I am glad the tornados did not get too close to you. I read news of damage and loss of life from that storm system.

It was such a bad storm. I was glad we didn’t get any tornadoes near me as well.
