After we got home yesterday (February 27), we walked around the yard. It was great to stretch our legs and to see how everything was.
I was so happy to see some daffodils blooming.
Nox was happy to walk around doing Nox things. She enjoyed sniffing things.
After we recovered from the drive, we started unloading the U-Haul.
Bruce’s tools went into the garage, then the large black toolbox found its spot next to the freezer.
Once the toolbox was in place, Bruce drove the U-Haul around back. He backed it up so the ramp went straight into the house.
We unloaded our furniture, art, photos and wardrobe boxes.
Bruce drove the truck back to the garage so we could unload boxes into the Odd Room through the garage. This meant we could unload the boxes without having to deal with steps.
We were done unloading!!!
I swept out the back of the U-Haul while Bruce checked online to see when the U-Haul return office closed. We had enough time to drive the U-Haul truck to the office before they closed.
We decided to go ahead and return the U-Haul truck so we would be done with it. Bruce drove the U-Haul to the return office and I followed in Cliff the Big Red Truck. Bruce turned in the U-Haul truck while I waited.
It felt wonderful to be completely done with the U-Haul truck!
After returning the U-Haul, we stopped at Mitchell’s Smoked Meats for some of our favorite smoky BBQ.

Hooray! Are you done with moving, or do you have one more trip to make? Are you the type of person who can sleep even though there are boxes to unpack? Can’t wait to see the home with all of your furnishings inside!

There is one more trip to make. We need to get our china cabinet. It is big and in two large pieces. It was too heavy for us to lift so we will need movers to load it and unload it. We’ll also need help to put it together.
I can sleep just fine with all those boxes waiting for me. I currently don’t have room in the kitchen, so I’ll need to do something so I’ll have places to put stuff.
