Well, the weather service was slightly off about the location of the tornado. The F1 tornado touched down just a little to the west of Muscle Shoals in downtown Tuscumbia, AL. Muscle Shoals and Tuscumbia share a border. Sheffield shares a border with both Muscle Shoals and Tuscumbia.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
We did see trees down on County Line Road before we reached E 2nd Street (1.3 miles away) and along E 2nd Street when we went into Muscle Shoals.

Maybe that was a small tornado doing all that damage? If so, it came close!
Just a little ways south, on E 6th Street, there was no damage out in the county. If we followed E 6th into Tuscumbia, we would’ve seen tornado damage.
On Monday evening, Bruce checked online to see if the Florida DVM had received the fax about the insurance. They must’ve gotten it since they had removed the hold on his license as of 5:00 PM on Monday.
Bruce’s relief was palpable.
We had been planning a trip to Golden, CO and Westminster, CO. With a hold on his license, Bruce didn’t want to go. With the hold lifted, we decided to go!
It has been a whirlwind, reserving the U-Haul truck, getting Nox her medicine from the veterinarian before we leave, figuring out what to do for the house water with the bitter freeze coming and putting a hold on the mail. I also contacted Stark Brothers to have them delay shipping our fruit trees.
We also had to do a lot of moving items around. The dinning room is almost empty as the folding table and camp chairs have been put away. We also put away many of the items in the odd room. The living room was still empty, so no moving items in there. I vacuumed and mopped so the floors would be clean when we bring in our furniture.
I am very excited to see my friend Jeanne from ajeanneinthekitchen.com and attend her birthday party on Saturday. Sunday, we are loading up Cliff the Big Red Truck. Monday, we’ll load the U-Haul truck up. We’ll take 3 days to drive home since I can’t drive at night. I’ll be driving Cliff the Big Red Truck while Bruce drives the U-Haul. (Nox is coming with us.)
I hope we’ll be able to close a storage unit down!
It would even be better if we could close both storage units down!
This is very exciting. I look forward to hearing about the trip.

Me too! We’ve arrived safely in Junction City, Kansas through the extreme winter cold. Hopefully, our diesel truck will start in the below zero temperatures.

The weather to Golden was downright miserable. Snow and low teens the first day of the trip and when we got up -12. Nox was so cold she refused to pee. She was shivering so bad we wrapped her up in her blanket. We turned the truck heater on her and she warmed up.

Yes, indeed! As soon as we stopped where it was in the 20’s she was happy to get out and walk around in the snow.
