Bruce Is Home!

Yesterday (Friday, February 7), I took Nox outside for a walk at 3:30 PM. I took a picture of her before I started the drive to the Huntsville International Airport to pick up Bruce.

Take Me!!!

I arrived at the Cell Parking lot and waited for Bruce to let me know his plane had landed. When I got his text, I started up Cliff the Big Red Truck, drove it to the actual airport and got a spot right by the arrival exit.

I kept watching for Bruce, through the airport windows. I finally saw him walking towards the exit! I waited until he was close to the truck before jumping out to give him a hug and a kiss.

Bruce drove home because it was getting dark and I really shouldn’t drive at night. I got this shot of the sunset over the Tennessee River as we crossed it.

Bruce had lots to tell me. I was happy to listen to him.

When we got home, Nox was so happy to see Bruce. She really missed him. Bruce was so happy to see Nox. He really missed her.

We got to sleep early as Bruce was tired from not getting enough sleep.

It is so good to have him home.

    1. Thank you! I am glad his brother was able to come for a bit. His oldest sister will be going after his brother goes home. I am not sure what’s going to happen afterwards, but it will get figured out.

      1. There is a lot of uncertainty in these situations. I think that is why it is called “traveling the uncharted path.” It is wonderful Bruce has a brother and sister to help also. It helps when the work is shared. One of my blogging friends shared the thought with me when our caregiving began: “We do the best we can, and usually, that is enough.” It was not always perfect, and things happened, but we did indeed work it out. Wishing you and the family the very best as you continue.

      2. Thank you. My FIL is now using his walker after the nurse had a strong conversation with him. Bruce was relieved he was using his walker more before he left. I just hope he’ll keep it up.
