We dragged ourselves out the door at 4:10 AM this morning. Bruce had a flight from Huntsville International Airport to Atlanta at 7:00 AM. He needed to be there 90 minutes before his flight. It takes an hour to get to Huntsville airport.
Nox, seeing us heading to the door, was desperate to come with us. I got her bed and put it on her seat in the truck. I then went to put Nox in the truck, but I didn’t see her right off. I looked around for Nox; she was at Bruce’s feet while he was about to step up into the truck.
I called Nox over. She was so excited! She wiggled and wagged her way to me so she could be put into the truck. Once she was belted in, she snuggled down into her bed and went to sleep.
We made good time and reached the airport at 5:10 AM. Bruce parked the truck in the Arrivals and Departures lane. As he grabbed his suitcase (motorcycle t-bag), from the backseat, he said bye to Nox. I got a kiss goodbye and he was gone, disappearing into the airport.
Bruce had asked me to wait nearby until he had cleared security and knew his flight was leaving.
I didn’t have any problem waiting. In fact, I needed to find a place to wait since it was dark and I shouldn’t drive at night. I parked in the cell phone waiting lot.
Bruce called to let me know he was through security and waiting at his gate. He had not thought about it being dark in the morning meant I couldn’t drive home until daylight. He texted me right before boarding his flight.
I waited until the dark was a memory and started up the truck. As I headed home, I was treated to a spectacular sunrise. Driving over the Tennessee River, the sunrise was reflected in the water. It was glorious and I wished I could’ve taken a picture to share.
I arrived back home around 8:00 AM, texted Bruce to let him know I was home, gave Nox her medicine and preheated the oven to 400 F. After the oven was preheated, I took some angel biscuits from the freezer and put them on a pan. Into the oven they went. They baked up so light and fluffy, with layers.
While I was eating the angel biscuits, Bruce texted he had made it to Atlanta. He found his departure gate and when his group started boarding, he texted to let me know he was boarding.
When Bruce arrives at the Brunswick, GA airport, he’ll be met by the son of a friend of his dad. Bruce will be driven to Jekyll Island, GA. Bruce will then drive his dad’s car down to Jacksonville, FL to stay with his dad at the hospital.
We are expecting his dad to be released from the hospital tomorrow. Bruce will drive him home.
Bruce will be taking care of his dad for the next two weeks. He’ll be returning home on February 7.
I hope my father-in-law continues to improve!

I hope all continues to go well!
