Yesterday, I took Nox out and took some pictures of the work we finished the day before.

To see the results of the removal of logs and branches from the ditch in the back pasture, here are the before and after pictures.

One large dead bush is left in the ditch.
Bruce started looking at repairing the outside light fixture. One of the lights would work, then it wouldn’t. The light bulb was fine.
As Bruce was taking apart the fixture, he was swarmed by ladybugs. They were hibernating in the fixture. I hope they found a good place to hibernate after being disturbed.
The light fixture had a broken wire.
While Bruce was working on the light, I set up BBQ country style pork ribs in the Instant Pot, using the slow cooker function. I used the Instant Pot slow cooker lid and set the temperature to medium and the time to six hours.
Bruce went to our local Ace on his motorcycle to get a replacement socket.
I tried out the electric blower attachment by blowing off leaves and pine straw from the front porch.
Bruce made it back before I was done playing with the blower attachment.
Bruce continued to fiddled around with the light fixture. I washed Nox. She had gotten a bit smelly from all the playing in the snow. I wash her bedding when I wash Nox. This keeps Nox smelling nice longer.
The weather was in the high 50’s F, which was warm enough to take her outside. I dried Nox off and got her to shake outside. I got another towel and dried her some more. This was repeated a couple more times, until Nox was mostly dry.
I put the towels and bedding in the washer. The washer didn’t turn on and I realized the laundry room was on the same circuit as the outside light.
I double checked with Bruce just to make sure we didn’t have another problem. I was right, so we didn’t have another problems.
I carried out cardboard boxes to the barn. I also put the electric attachments in the garage.
Once Bruce finished working on the light fixture for the day, he flipped the breaker. I started the washing machine.
Bruce had bought tin roof screws while he was at Ace. He wanted to reattach the loose piece of tin on the shed roof. He carried the ladder over to the shed. I carried some of the tools.
We had so many dead branches hanging down and in the way. I went and got the electric pole saw attachment and the motor. I proceeded to cut down the dead branches. It was so fun!
I put the pole saw down and helped Bruce by handing up tools as needed.

While Bruce had the tools out, he decided to inspect the roof on the other shed. We have rafter that is partially rotten in the other shed. The roof was piled with leaves and branches. Bruce asked me to get a leaf rake so he could clean off all the debris from the roof.

Bruce was very careful not to get on the section of roof with the rotten rafter. Bruce asked me to get the blower attachment to see if it would blow off the finer leaf material. It worked well.
While Bruce cleaned the roof, I pulled more branches from the ditch. We are planning to put all the branches next to the ditch, instead of in the ditch. This will make it easier to gather up the wood for our next set of garden beds.
As we were walking back to the house, we stopped to inspect the row of pines. One pine tree had a broken branch and we thought might be able to pull it down.

While looking at the large branch, we realized the pine had another large broken branch. Bruce put the ladder against the tree and decided that he couldn’t reach the branch.
I pointed out the pine tree next to it. It has a lot of dead branches on it. The tree leans towards the fence, so Bruce decided to cut a few of the large dead branches off.
He cut off four large branches on the fence side with the pole saw. He decided to cut up these large branches with the chain saw.
I went inside and put the dog bedding and towels into the dryer.
The food in the Instant Pot was smelling great.
I had put a folded towel down for Nox to rest on. When I started putting her bed back together, Nox got very excited. She recognized it as soon as I took her bedding from the dryer. She sat at my feet intently watching as I put her bed back together. Her tail was wagging so hard.
As soon as I put her bed in place, Nox climbed right into it and curled up. She was so happy to get her bed back.
It was lovely having supper ready after working hard most of the day.
I’m jealous of all you have accomplished!

We felt the need to get as much accomplished while the weather was nice. It rained last night and drizzled on and off today.

A warm from the dryer bed? Yes, please!

Yes, she loves warm from the dryer. I recently bought two self warming pillows for Nox. They do crinkle a bit and I was afraid she wouldn’t like them. She doesn’t mind the crinkle and seems very happy to curl up on them. One was placed on her bed and the other was set up as a bed in my office. She comes into my office and curls up on it.
