We’ve got a section of the fence that is very overgrown with blackberry canes, honeysuckle, an oak, an ornamental flowering pear, privet and the dreaded poison ivy.
To get to the poison ivy, I decided to start cutting down the other plants on the fence. I used the sawzall to cut through the small plants. I cut off branches of the trees. I started to see the fence!

This pile got bigger because I went back out on another day and cut more down. I also cut some down today.
I discovered a live grapevine growing in amongst the tanged vines and trees. It has been trained along the fence, but it is now growing wild. I hope to save it and get it to produce grapes. I don’t know what type of grape it is. It will be fun to find out.
Horray! Grapes! Maybe you can add wine making to your honey collection and bring mead back into fashion!

Bruce has made mead in the past. He loves the flavor of a dry mead.

Kind of fun to find surprises on your property like the grapes. Who knows what else will turn up!
