Sights Around Blackberry Homestead

November 8, 2024

This afternoon, I went with Nox into the backyard. I was able to get a great picture of the yellow fall leaves on the hickory tree next door.

Later in the afternoon, I walked to the mailbox to see if we had gotten any mail.

On the way back to the house, I noticed the moon was out.

Sunset was gorgeous today.

The sunset was a beautiful way to end the day.

    1. It’s half a mile away. We also have an Ace Hardware in the same center as the Foodland Grocery. We even have a Dollar General next to the grocery store. There is also a gas station in the same center as the grocery store. Across the street from the grocery store is a real pharmacy and a family practice doctor’s office. The community storm shelter is in the center with the grocery store. We also have a small cafe at the front of the grocery center.

      1. Sounds good. One of the advantages also of our area is that we are within walking distance of stores, post office, library, and even a garage for cars. Just in case, we can walk and of course, a few cafes. If I felt very ambitious, I could bike to my work out place in Temple Terrace.

      2. While we are in walking distance, the road has fast (speed limit is 55) traffic on it. I have considered walking to the grocery store, but with the fast traffic and a fair amount of traffic, I haven’t worked up the energy to see how much traffic impacts walking yet. If we had a sidewalk, I’d walk to the grocery store. If I had a bike, I’d ride. It might be worth getting an e-bike.

      3. RVers have taken to e-bikes in a storm. They love riding around in campgrounds on them. We kept talking about getting e-bikes after another RVer couple let us try their e-bikes out.

    1. We find it interesting as well. I don’t know if the drive loop was bigger at one point and grass has grown in, hiding the gravel. When I get around to it, I’ll do some digging to find out if there is more gravel.
