Fall Has Fallen

November 2, 2024

The small tree out front went from green, to a few yellow leaves, to leaves all over the ground in just a few days.

Our neighbors’ pear tree has started turning red.

Pear Tree

The pecan trees leaves are turning as well.

      1. When I was growing up, my mom would take the us (3 girls) to go pecan collecting. One of the properties my parents owned used to have a house on it, the house had fallen down, but the pecan trees were magnificent.

  1. At LBJ National Historical Park – where we just were at – there were pecan trees. It is allowed to take one person’s day’s worth from the Johnson Settlement area (but not the LBJ Ranch.) However, like you said, it didn’t rain a drop the whole time we were there! I looked for pecans as I had never gotten one straight from a tree, and I love them. I found one! I have yet to crack it open and eat it. And I’m hoping if we ever return, maybe I can get some more. It will be fun having your own pecan trees!
